Who
is in the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association?
The
Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association's members include aspiring, self-published
and published authors and writers as well as agents, publishers, and other book-industry
people who meet regularly to enhance the mutual growth and success of all.
Why you should
join the CAPA.
- Learn
creative ways to write and market your book.
-
Find out how to self-publish your book or to find a publisher.
- Listen to speakers
present subjects of vital interest to all authors.
- Attend seminars
on subjects of particular interest to you.
- Network with successful
authors to find out what they did right.
- Become successful more quickly.
- Receive the CAPA's
monthly newsletter,"The Authority"
CAPA Activities.
- The Mentor Program which
provides aspiring authors access to the experience of published writers. You will
be assigned to a mentor who will work with you to improve the writing and marketing
process for a book, magazine article, video or any other publishing project.
- Group
book signings which stir more interest than single-author signings.
- Co-operative marketing opportunities.
We combine the resources of all interested members to maximize our marketing exposure
and minimize our expenses. For instance, we participate as a group in major local,
regional and national trade shows and cooperate in targeted mailings to specific
market groups.
When
are CAPA meetings held?
